For the past few years most racers using the B4/T4 have been doing this modification. All the top pros do this and it makes the car have more rear grip and a better balance. This is a key to the B4s success and "standard" setup.

How come people run more weight on the rear of the B4?
I thought it would have enough weight on the rear as it is!

I have found that with the faster motors (more than stock) this extra weight really helps.

with modern motors and cells all the cars are so overpowered weight does not really hurt.

the extra weight slows down the cars reaction to bumps and makes slides and bumps easier to catch if things go wrong.

also, adding weight to the chassis increases the chassis weight and threfore decreases the percentage of weight that is unsprung. helps the chassis stay where it is and makes the wheels and suspension do the work.

Umm..... Not sure. I assume that the problem is similar to the FF problem. But I've no idea on a fix.

(Apart from using FF or IE ....uggg.....)

Does this mod work well for indoor clay tracks too? Also, where do you pick up some of these weights at? Thanks, Doug Yunker

the weights are 1/4oz each with two sided tape on one side. You can find them at any tire or auto parts supply store.

I think a lot of people just consider adding this weight is part of the way you build the car, not a setup option. fit and forget.

When using these weights is the car better balanced with the foam pad at the rear of the battery (at the rear of the car) or at the other end of the battery? My understanding is that the pad is supposed to be at the back but a lot of people run with the pad at the front to push the battery weight further back in the car.
