My son has a t4.1 rtr with 2.4ghz transmitter , but there is a problem .
Most of the times when it is turnd on there is no connection with the receiver (flashes red ). Then we turn it of and on again and most of the times it's ok . But now that doesn't work any more . I try binding them again , using the manual , but it doesn't work . The batteries are charged and the receiver antenna is ok too . What can we do more ? |

This radio is known by Associated to have problems.I suggest contacting customer service. POLITELY explain your problem, explain your wish to exchange the radio system for a new one. Odds are good they will tell you to ship them your old radio and when they get it they will send you a new one with NO shipping charges. So far that is what they have done for everyone else who has had a problem with the radio. If they don't,P.M. me and I'll give you a viable option.

QUOTE(meatsaber @ Jul 27 2010, 04:42 PM) you must have a great LHS. only store around me is hobbytown and once you've purchased it, you're on your own That's very odd. When I lived in Memphis the Hobbytown I bought at would bend- over backwards to make sure you had exactly what you needed and would usually replace a bad product even when there wasn't a "factory" warranty on the product. It seemed to pay off for them because there were people buying there who would drive right past two other HS to get to Hobbytown. Go figure. -------------------- I love the smell of nitro in the morning! |

Go figure. i have had major problems right out of the box with 2 rtr's purchased from hobbytown. one electric smoked the esc after like 2 runs on a 6 cell battery. hobbytowns response: call the manufacturer, there's nothing we can do. one nitro had a big time receiver issue, even with a fail safe installed, this car took off during break in at full speed and broke the connecting rod. i got basically the same response as last time. once more i had them order a 30 dollar part, i got home and found it on the manufacturers website for $25 msrp. i realized they were selling for more than msrp where as most places sell for lower. i called to cancel the order (which hadnt even been placed yet) and all i can get is a store credit. i've yet to have a good experience with the hobbytown in my area |

Yeah, any hobby shop that sells you an Associated kit will tell you to contact the factory. That is part of the agreement with AE. They want to handle customer problems themselves.I really don't care for that but what you gonna do? After over 20 years of buying AE kits,RTRs,parts, etc. the radio problems I had are the first I've had with anything of theirs. With those kind of odds I'll send it back to them, no problem. They even paid shipping for me.I was po'd at first but got over it. Considering the parameters of the hobby, I'm suprised everybody doesn't do it that way.
